Currently, MN runs a consultancy on small holder projects on organic agriculture and the Fair Trade market. His functional areas are audits and validations of organic standards of various countries. Consultant for ISO certification under 9001 and 22000 including internal audit and training. The Consultancy under FSSAI provides auditing and training.

He also specializes in the following area:

• GST- Consultant and advisor on GST applicability, GST health audits, reviews, opinions on GST applicability, and business study in the light of GST compliances.
• Taxation- Consultant adviser on direct and indirect tax compliances, tax planning, and opinions on tax matters.
• Import/ Export- Export and Import documentation, FEMA compliances, inbound and outbound remittances compliances under RBI law.

During his initial days, MN, has been holding a part-time certificate of practice and has been running a firm by the name M N Pai & Associates in Mangalore for financial investigation services of many banks in India. He is also a consultant to government run bodies and has handled Income-Tax Returns and represented them for appeal appearances in the initial years.

During articleship, he served the firm Ganesh & Sudhir and was involved in Income Tax Returns and handling litigations. He has led teams on bank audits, insurance audits, and other statutory audits. During that tenure, he was also involved with administration of the firm.
