Toastmasters

Since the year 2002, M N Pai has taken up numerous roles within the Toastmasters International movement (TMI). From being the Charter Secretary of Mangalore Toastmasters Club (MTM), Pai has progressed to being elected as the First Lieutenant Governor Marketing (LGM) of District 92 in the year 2014-15.

M N Pai is also a Charter Member of 7 clubs namely Mangalore Toastmasters Club, ProAct Toastmasters Club, Inspiron Toastmasters Club, Port Town Advanced Toastmasters Club, Kannur, Mangala and Konkani Toastmasters.

He was elected as the President of MTM for the year 2007-08. During this year, the club received all the possible awards for its exemplary functioning from Toastmasters International. After being in charge of Education and Training of members for Area 4 for in the year 2008-09, Pai was nominated as Assistant Division Governor Marketing for Division E, District 82 for the year 2009-10. In the year 2010-11, M N Pai served as the Division B Governor for District 82 which comprised approximately 600 members in 24 clubs across Mangalore, Mysore, and parts of Bangalore.

Due to his tenacious attitude, Toastmaster clubs at Milagres Church and Infosys Toastmasters Mangalore SEZ came to fruition.

On the educational track, M N Pai has received the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) twice.

M N Pai was given the responsibility of being Chairman at the District 82 Semi-Annual Conference named ‘Reverberation 2011’, held at Mangalore in November, 2011. Reverberation had delegates from India and Sri Lanka. The World Champion of Speaking for the year 2000, Ed Tate from the USA was invited to be the star speaker.

M N Pai served as the District Public Relations Officer of Toastmasters District 82, covering South India and Sri Lanka for the year 2013-14 and in the same year was appointed as the Conference Chair for ‘Ovation 2014’, the International Conference of Toastmasters held at Goa in May, 2014.

In the year 2014-15, he was elected as the Lieutenant Governor Marketing (LGM), third in line in the leadership hierarchy of Toastmasters, comprising clubs across the states of Karnataka and Kerala. The district had recorded a 28% net club growth in the form of new clubs started in the district, the highest among all the districts under TMI.

He has also taken up various training and leadership roles in this journey which includes the role of the Parliamentarian at the District Business Meetings for 2 consecutive years.

He is the first male Distinguished Toastmaster from the coastal town of Mangalore. He has introduced more than 100 members to the toastmasters community.
