Over the last 13 years, M N Pai has taken up numerous roles in the Toastmasters International (TMI) movement. From being Charter Secretary of Mangalore Toastmasters Club(MTM), Pai has progressed to being the First Lieutenant Governor Marketing (LGM) of District 92.
M N Pai is also a Charter member of 4 clubs namely Mangalore Toastmasters Club, ProAct Toastmasters Club, Inspiron Toastmasters Club and Port Town Advanced Toastmasters Club.
He was elected President of MTM for the year 2007-08. During this year, the club received all the possible awards for its exemplary functioning from Toastmasters International. After being in charge of Area 4 for Education and Training of members in the year 2008-09, Pai was nominated as Assistant Division Governor Marketing for Division E Dist.82 for the year 2009-10. In the year 2010-11 M N Pai served as the Division Governor of Division B Dist. 82 covering Mangalore, Mysore and part of Bangalore comprising of 24 clubs with approximately 600 members . He was the recipient of the President’s Distinguished Division Governor for contributing to the growth of the Toastmasters movement.
Due to his tenacious attitude, Milagres TMC and Infosys Toastmasters Mangalore SEZ came to fruition.
On the educational track, M N Pai has received the Competent Communicator (CC), Advance Communicator Bronze (ACB) and the Advance Leader Silver (ALS) awards from TMI.
M N Pai was given the responsibility of being Chairman at the Toastmasters International District 82 semiannual conference held in Mangalore in November 2011 named “Reverberation 2011”. Reverberation had delegates from India and Sri Lanka, and world champion of speaking TM Ed Tate from USA was invited to be the star speaker.
M N Pai served as the District Public Relations Officer of Toastmasters District 82 for the year 2013-14 covering South India and Sri Lanka and in the same year was appointed as Conference Chair for the International Conference of Toastmasters held at Goa in May 2014 named “Ovation 2014”
Was the Lieutenant Governor Marketing (LGM) for the year 2014-15, third in line in the leadership hierarchy of Toastmasters District 92 comprising clubs across the states of Karnataka and Kerala, the district has recorded a 20% club growth in the form of new clubs started in the district, the highest among all the districts under TMI.
He is now the First Distinguished Toastmaster from the coastal town of Mangalore and Division F.
